Westonka Highlights
Time Vault Unearthed at Westonka High School
A time vault buried in 1976 under the high school was uncovered due to upcoming renovations.All 10 originally placed items were found (some more damaged than others).
The items will be cataloged, restored where possible, and many will be displayed during the WHS Homecoming Alumni Breakfast on October 3.
A new time capsule is planned with the fall 2026 renovations, and selected items from the 1976 capsule will be included.
Westonka Homecoming Alumni Breakfast
The school district is inviting alumni to an Alumni Breakfast in connection with the 2025 Homecoming.New Teachers & School Welcomes
Shirley Hills Primary School hosted a “Back-to-School Pizza Party.”
Westonka Middle School ran a transition/orientation program (“Where Everybody Belongs” or WEB) to welcome new students.
A “Link Crew” orientation took place for incoming high school students.
New teachers have joined Westonka Public Schools for the 2025-2026 school year.
School Board / Governance Updates
Four residents filed to run for three seats on the Westonka School Board. The election is set for November 4, 2025.

Westonka students did well at the State Fair art competition.
